TheMongolz win the Asia Regional Minor taking place at IEM Taipei, bringing down the Australian Renegades team 2-0 (16-9 on de_cbble and 16-2 on de_inferno), and thus qualify for IEM Katowice 2016. With both TheMongolz and Renegades having won their respective semifinals games and thereby already qualified for the MLG Columbus Main Qualifier, the grand final of the Asia Minor was a battle for the first-place prize of $30,000 and a spot at IEM Katowice in March. The tournament favourites Renegades were in for a bit of a nasty shock as TheMongolz powered ahead to a 16-9 win on de_cbble, securing another map win against a team which we have currently ranked as 19th in the world in our Global Rankings.
Enkhtaivan "Machinegun" Lkhagva and his teammates were unsatisfied with just taking a map off the Renegades as the Mongolian players launched a CT-side defense on the second map of de_inferno that saw them finish 13-2 and completely destroy Renegades' morale. In addition, the Australian team saw the bomb get suck inside of the grill when they were down 1-10 and thus lost the round, adding further insult to injury. The second half saw continued confidence from TheMongolz as they powered forward with a pistolround win to take the map 16-2 and thereby win the Asia Minor. IEM Taipei 2016Best of 3
